I&#039;m sure you know ansi date literals - the fixed date format spares typing some letters
E.g.: 
date &#039;1970-01-01&#039; 
instead of 
to_date(&#039;01-jan-1970&#039;,&#039;dd-mon-yyyy&#039;)
