28th November 2011
I’ve just received an email telling me that Apress is having a “Happy Cyber Monday”. Translated into English this means that for today only they’re selling every eBook at $15.00 each. If you were planning to get an eBook version of Oracle Core, today might be the best day to do it. Here’s a link to the specific page on the Apress site. I’ve repeated this link in the picture of the book at the top-right of this page.
Note – the book is available in ePub, Mobi, and pdf formats.
Note 2 – it’s possible that some local sales tax will be added dependent on where you are purchasing from.
Update 9th Dec
I’ve uploaded the source code library to my blog as a zip file. Instructions for download are on my index page for the book.
Update 10th Dec
Although the book still isn’t available directly from Amazon UK, it’s been on their rankings as the number 1 Oracle book for the last 24 hours. That’s nice, of course, but the reason I wrote this update wasn’t to brag, it was to point out that one of the other categories that Amazon has assigned to the book to is Home Office Databases!

Hi Jonathan,
I was waiting desperately for the same. I have just bought it.
Running through it ….
Thanks unlimited for all the writings …..You rock big time …
Thank You,
VINEET

Jonathan,
Thanks for the tip. I am downloading my copy as I write. The poor apress.com site is buckling under the hordes of Oracle geeks/geekettes buying your book…
Your humble pupil,
Reinhard

Jonathan,
I can’t find the Source Code/Download area in the page of this book on apress.com.
is there any way to download the Source Code?
Comment by Sid — November 30, 2011 @ 1:31 am UTC Nov 30,2011 |
Sid,
Thanks for the comment.
I’ve sent a note to my technical editor pointing out the omission.
I had a lot of trouble making a zip file available on this blog the last time I tried, so I’ve emailed you a copy of the zip file as a workaround. If anyone else would like a copy of the zip file before Apress uploads it, just add a quick comment here (I’ll delete it after I’ve emailed you) and include the email address you want me to use in the form (not the comment itself) and I’ll email it.

Thanks for the notice of the sale. The best explanation of the black magic of undo/redo that I’ve read. This is easily the geekiest book on my shelves, real or virtual, it’s great.

Jonathan,
I got my copy of the book. Just started reading it. I always like your style, very easy to read and very precise.
Can you please email me the zip file also, since the source code is still not loaded in the Apress website.
Thanks a lot for all your efforts for the book.
Thanks

[...] still in doubt to buy or not to buy the book I strongly suggest you to buy a copy. If you missed Happy Cyber Monday, you can buy either Amazon Kindle Edition for $19.59 or use promo code SNOW11 on the Apress site [...]

Hello,
Your book “Oracle Core” rocks , it has really very good details of oracle internals which helped me a lot to understand its working. But , I didn’t able to find the source code/scripts for download in Apress website. Can you please mail me the same.

Ravish,
I’ve uploaded the source code to my blog, and linked to it from the page that I set up for the book – see above.

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for sharing this valuable insight with fellow oracle community … you have covered very interesting core technical areas and provided answers to some of the questions that I have been wondered around for years.
I have no doubt ..that this will be a great hit …and will stay same for many years to come.
Best regards,
R. Gomes
